Synopsis:

Sentenced to Be a Hero (Season 1) follows Xylo Forbartz, a convicted criminal in a world where the worst punishment isn’t death but being forcibly drafted as a “Hero,” a disposable frontline weapon against the monstrous Demon Lords. Branded with a curse that ensures obedience and death upon failure, Xylo is thrown into near-suicidal battles alongside other condemned heroes, where survival depends less on glory and more on grit, strategy, and sheer stubbornness. As the season progresses, Xylo repeatedly defies expectations—surviving missions meant to kill him, questioning the morality of a system that treats heroes as expendable tools, and slowly uncovering the political and religious machinery behind the endless war—turning what was meant to be a sentence of death into a grim struggle for agency, truth, and meaning in a cruelly utilitarian world.
