Synopsis:

Darling in the Franxx follows Hiro, a boy unable to pilot mechs, who meets the mysterious and powerful Zero Two, a hybrid pilot who can fight the giant Klaxosaurs. They form a partnership to pilot a Franxx, fighting monsters while the other pilots in Squad 13 deal with their own relationships and the growing realization they are being lied to by the adults. The season culminates in the reveal of the true enemy, an alien race called VIRM, and Hiro and Zero Two's sacrifice to save Earth before they are reincarnated years later, meeting again as children.
